Kintail Mountain Rescue Team

The team relies heavily on public donations to maintain their income and therefore their effectiveness. Rescue operations in Kintail rely on ordinary members of the public making donations. The small population living in our area of operation means that donations from those living further afield are extremely important to their efforts to make this a safer place for locals and visitors alike.

Special commission by the Kintail Mountain Rescue team for a back lit sign. The sign was put into a custom made display case by the team which sets it off. Very proud of this one.

How I go about the design process

  • The inspiration

    The client wanted a bespoke birthday gift for his wife to celebrate her restored MK1 Escort Mexico

  • The car is an immaculate example of a Ford RS Classic

  • I wanted the design to celebrate the Ford Escort Mexico heritage and took inspiration from the Door panel Graphic - This was always one of my favourite cars, especially in this colour.

  • Checking the layout is accurate

  • For this project, the idea was to back light each letter to emphasise the word Mexico

  • Testing and seeing if the light distribution was as I hoped it would be - However, when it was painted, the lighting effect was even better than I hoped.

  • Customer received the sign undamaged and was delighted with it.

  • Installed in pride of place
